ACCOUNT / SUBSCRIPTION

Account & subscriptions

Learn the difference between your account, client app, and subscription configuration to avoid repeating steps.

Do I need an email address to create an account?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Save your username and choose a unique password for this service. Use the same account to view plans, get your subscription, and submit support tickets. Never share your password or subscription link in public forums, and don’t rely on a client’s configuration name to identify which account it belongs to. If you can’t remember your login details, first check your browser’s saved credentials. Follow the instructions in the user dashboard for further help; don’t keep creating accounts and then guess which one is linked to your order.

Where can I get my subscription link, and how do I update the server list?

Sign in to the user dashboard and check your plan status in the account overview. Use the subscription option in the dashboard to get your link or import your subscription. If you already have a configuration, select the relevant subscription in your client and choose Update Subscription or Refresh Configuration; the menu label varies by client. When the update is complete, check that the server list has loaded and select a route again. If the update fails, make sure your device can access the dashboard and that you copied the entire link. Don’t share your subscription link publicly—it’s an account credential.

Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch devices or use multiple devices?

There’s no device limit, and switching devices alone doesn’t mean you need to choose a new plan. Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux are supported. On a new device, open the user dashboard, choose the client and subscription for your platform, then import the configuration and connect. When you stop using the old device, disconnect and remove any local configurations you no longer need. Using multiple devices doesn’t give each device a separate data allowance. Check your remaining data in the account dashboard rather than relying only on one device’s local usage statistics.

Are the client app and subscription configuration the same thing?

The client is the app on your device that handles connections and traffic routing. The subscription configuration provides the route information available to your account. Installing the app doesn’t import a subscription, and importing one doesn’t automatically connect you. Check each step in order: install the client, import the configuration, select a route, and connect. Follow the prompts in the app at each step. Get the client and subscription through the user dashboard; don’t use installers from unknown sources or configurations forwarded by someone else. For step-by-step instructions, see the Guides.

What does X7VPN’s no-logs policy mean?

X7VPN’s service policy is not to keep logs. Keep in mind that a network connection service and the websites you visit are separate: a website may store account activity, login status, and browsing records under its own policies, while your client may keep local diagnostic information. The service policy doesn’t mean that every app leaves no records at all. Before sending diagnostic materials, check screenshots and text and hide your username, subscription link, and other access credentials. See the Privacy Policy for details on how information is handled, or ask through a support ticket if anything is unclear.

CONNECTION / DIAGNOSIS

Connections & troubleshooting

Check your internet connection first, then review your configuration, routing rules, and app status.

The client says it’s connected, but websites won’t load. What should I check first?

Disconnect the client and make sure your device’s regular internet connection can open common websites, then reconnect. Check that the active configuration belongs to your account, your plan is active, you have data available, and you’ve selected a route. If only one website fails, don’t reinstall the client yet. Try another website to narrow down the issue, then switch routes and compare. If nothing loads, check whether another proxy app is running and note any error message in the client. Change one setting at a time so you can identify what fixes—or causes—the problem.

Why does my browser work, but another app won’t use the proxy?

Apps handle system proxy settings differently, so a working browser doesn’t prove that other apps are using the same connection. Check the client’s connection mode and routing rules, then see whether the app is set to connect directly, bypass the proxy, or use a separate route. If the client offers a system-wide routing mode, check the platform instructions and required permissions before testing it. Don’t copy settings from another device. After changing settings, fully close and reopen the app; sign in again if needed. If it still doesn’t work, include the app name, device platform, and exact error message in your support ticket.

An error appears when I update my subscription. Should I delete the old configuration?

Don’t delete the old configuration before you know what caused the error. First check that the dashboard opens, then verify the subscription option there and make sure you copied the full link without extra spaces. In the client, select the correct subscription and run the update, then read the error message. If the client version or configuration format doesn’t match, check the client instructions in the dashboard. If you do need to import the subscription again, note your existing route and traffic-routing settings first. Remove the old configuration only after confirming the new one works, so you don’t lose useful troubleshooting information.

My connection drops after sleep or won’t reconnect after switching networks. How can I troubleshoot it?

A device going to sleep, a network change, or a change in system permissions can invalidate an existing connection. Make sure the new network works, then disconnect and reconnect in the client; don’t rely only on the connection icon in your status bar. If it keeps happening, check whether the system restricts background activity or has disabled permissions the client needs. On desktop, also make sure the system proxy setting matches the client’s current status. In your support ticket, say whether the issue happened after waking the device or switching networks, and attach a screenshot of the error with sensitive details hidden. This helps identify what triggers the problem.

What information should I include in a connection support ticket?

Open the ticket form from the user dashboard while signed in. Include your device platform, client name, selected region and route type, the app or website you can’t access, and what you did just before and after the error appeared. Say whether you can open the dashboard and access other websites; this helps narrow down the issue. Keep the error message visible in screenshots, but hide your password, subscription link, and other access credentials. Don’t paste your full subscription configuration. If you’ve already updated the configuration or tried another route, include the results so troubleshooting can build on what you’ve tried instead of repeating the same steps.

ROUTES / APPLICATIONS

Speed & routes

Choose a destination region first, then compare routes using the same app.

My connection slows down at peak times. How should I choose a route?

First determine whether your local network is slow or only access to international services is affected. Keep the same device and app while comparing other regions or route types, and pause bandwidth-heavy activity on other devices. Don’t change your network, client, and destination website all at once, or it will be hard to tell what made a difference. Evaluate video streaming, file transfers, and video calls separately. If the slowdown happens at a particular time, include when it occurred, the selected region, and the results of switching routes in your support ticket. A route’s name alone doesn’t tell you how it will perform in practice.

IEPL, relay, or direct routes: which should I choose?

These labels describe how routes are set up; they don’t guarantee how well a route will perform in every situation. Start with the region required by your destination, then compare the available routes there. Everyday browsing, long sessions, and streaming have different needs, so a route that works well for one app may not suit another. Keep a few reliable routes handy and note the alternatives. If something goes wrong, compare them using the same app. The server page explains regions and route types; the dashboard and your updated subscription show what’s currently available to you.

Which regions does the service cover, and why does my client show a different list?

Coverage includes 120+ countries and 190+ routes. The list in your client can vary depending on whether your subscription is up to date, which configuration is selected, any search filters, and how the app groups entries. Regions and cities may also appear separately. If the list doesn’t look right, clear any searches or filters, check that you’re not viewing an old configuration, and update the subscription. The server page offers an overview of coverage and route selection; the dashboard and your current subscription show what you can connect to. If you still have questions after updating, send a screenshot of the configuration name and region list—but don’t include your subscription link.

What should I do if an AI tool like ChatGPT or Claude shows a region notice?

Check the tool’s current service regions, account requirements, and usage rules, then choose an exit region that meets those requirements. A working network connection doesn’t guarantee that the platform will accept your account or access environment. Region notices can also depend on your login session, browser state, or the platform’s own checks. After switching routes, fully close and reopen the app, then see whether the notice changes. Don’t use repeated region changes as a substitute for troubleshooting, and don’t assume every account error is caused by the route. If you need help, include the exact notice and the steps you’ve tried. The platform determines which accounts and regions it supports.

Watching Japanese anime or Netflix: what if the region is wrong or video quality is limited?

Make sure the selected exit region matches the content library you want, then check your platform account’s subscription access and the content’s regional availability. Selecting a Japan route doesn’t guarantee that every title in Japan’s library will be available to your account. Video quality can also depend on your device, player settings, local network, and platform plan. After changing routes, fully close and reopen the streaming app so it doesn’t keep using an old session. If one title has a problem, note the title and any message shown. If everything buffers, compare other routes and your local network. Playback restrictions aren’t necessarily connection failures.

BILLING / REFUNDS

Billing & refunds

Know the difference between monthly plans and data packages. Check orders and account status in the dashboard.

How much does a monthly plan cost, and when does data reset?

Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB · ¥18/month for 250GB · ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the date your plan started, not automatically at the beginning of each calendar month. Before choosing a tier, check your usage in the account dashboard to estimate what you need. Don’t use a single website visit’s local usage statistics to estimate a full month. Check the dashboard for your current billing period and remaining data. If you have a question about a reset, include your selected plan and the message you see in a support ticket. Don’t assume reset rules differ between tiers.

What’s the difference between a data package and a monthly plan? Do data packages expire?

Data packages: ¥158 for 300GB · ¥358 for 1000GB · ¥658 for 3000GB. Use the data as needed; it never expires. Monthly plans reset their data each month on the date the plan started, so the two options have different billing and usage schedules. When comparing them, consider whether you prefer a recurring plan or data that’s consumed as you use it. Monthly plan reset rules don’t apply to data packages, and packages don’t automatically renew at the start of a calendar month. If you already have a plan, check your current account status and order details before changing how you use the service. For stacking, credits, or switching rules not listed on the page, confirm the details through a support ticket before proceeding.

How is the price difference handled if I upgrade my plan mid-cycle?

The price difference for a mid-cycle upgrade is converted into remaining days. Before proceeding, sign in to your original account, check your current plan and the tier you’re considering, and review the order shown in the dashboard. Don’t assume the final amount is a simple subtraction of monthly prices, or estimate how much extra data or time an upgrade will add. The order and account status in the dashboard show the specific result. If the order doesn’t match your expectations, keep the page details and ask through a support ticket before proceeding. Avoid creating multiple orders, which can make the details harder to verify.

Which payment methods are supported, and what should I do if my plan status doesn’t update after payment?

WeChat Pay, Alipay, and USDT are supported. Continue from the order in your user dashboard, check the order details and amount, then follow the on-screen instructions. If your account status doesn’t update after payment, return to the original order to check its status and refresh your account overview. Don’t pay repeatedly just because the change isn’t visible yet. If the order and payment result don’t match, keep the order details and payment receipt, then explain the issue through a support ticket while signed in. Hide personal information that isn’t needed to verify the payment. Don’t send your password, subscription link, or other account credentials.

How do I request a refund if I’m not satisfied?

X7VPN offers a 60-day no-questions-asked refund. Sign in to the account used to pay, explain your request through the support ticket form in the user dashboard, and include the relevant order details so the account and payment can be verified. Before applying, read the Refund Policy for the full terms. Don’t assume the process works like another service’s. If your issue is a connection problem, you can also describe it in the ticket; whether to continue troubleshooting is up to you. Follow up in the same ticket after submitting your request. Check the dashboard replies for progress, and don’t assume a specific processing time.
